University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest is the second oldest veterinary university in Europe, founded in 1787, only 25 years after the first vet school of Lyon. Despite the historical ordeals, the veterinary education has been ongoing since that time without interruption. In 2013, out of 97 European veterinary schools, our University became the seventh to be fully accredited by the European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education (EAEVE), covering our curriculum and also our quality management, which means that the diploma acquired here is accepted in every European country without homologation. At the moment, veterinary education is available in tree languages (Hungarian, German and English) for students coming from around 40 countries of the world. Department of Pathology and Department of Microbiology and Infectious Diseases will be involved in the project.
